ABOUT VSC OF SARASOTA
Dr. Scott Rose, DVM, DACVS-SA is the Chief of
Surgery at VSC and leads our veterinary surgery
team. He works alongside a full team of highly
skilled support staff that have additional
training in surgery and/or anesthesia.

ORTHOPEDIC SURGERY
Orthopedic surgery is the treatment of the
musculoskeletal system (while others require
life-long therapy. When extended therapy is
necessary, we work with your primary veterinarian
for a long-term management protocol. The
surgeries and treatments listed below are some
commonly performed at VSC.

GENERAL SURGERY
General surgery encompasses a wide array of body
systems, including diseases in the abdomen
(belly), thorax (chest), EENT (eyes, ears, nose,
throat), endocrine organs (hormone system),
skin and many more.

MINIMALLY  INVASIVE SURGERY
Minimally invasive surgery (MIS) is a broad
category of procedures that are designed to
reduce the amount of surgical incisions to
promote faster healing and quicker recover.

REHABILITATION AND SPORTS MEDICINE
Rehabilitation is the practice of restoring pets
musculoskeletal and nervous system function after
severe injury, and sports medicine is the
treatment of sports related joint injuries using
non-surgical techniques.

URGENT CARE
Veterinary Surgery Center of Sarasota offers
urgent care services for non-critical, surgery
related injuries. Some examples of these
situations include fractured bones, torn
ligaments, or an ingested foreign body, etc.
