• Carbon steel is usually referred to as High
  Carbon Steel.
• It is very hard, resists abrasion, retains its
  shape.
• Can withstand significant force.
• Since hard metals are brittle as well under
  extreme tensile stress.
• Therefore, the high carbon steel is most likely
  to crack up.

• Low carbon steel is more common.
• It has a low production cost.
• Greater ductility.
• It is easy to use in manufacturing.
• Low carbon steel deforms instead of breaking
  under extreme stress.

Stainless Steel

• Quality

• Contains iron, carbon, and at least 10.5
  chromium content.
• Chromium is the key.
• Chromium reacts with the oxygen and creates a
  passive layer that protects the steel from
  corrosion.

• The chromium protection helps the steel to
  function in a wet environment without corroding
  or rusting.
• High chromium content means the steel is more
  corrosion resistant.

• A stainless steel with a minimum of 10.5
  chromium content is cheaper and less durable.
• A stainless steel with 16 chromium content has
  more maintenance cost but has a longer and better
  service life.
