2Bhangarh Tour In Rajasthan
As we drove up to the fort of Bhangarh in Alwar
district of Rajasthan, from the Sariska Tiger
Reserve, we passed by the Ajabgarh fort. Since
entry into Bhangarh is restricted after sunset,
we were in a hurry. I didnt climb up the
Ajabgarh fort, but I explored its base. A local
lad grazing sheep told me that there was nothing
that I would be able to see from below except the
four walls. If I had known its significance in
the destiny of the fort I was going to, I would
have made more of an effort.
3Fort Tour In Rajasthan
If one wants to see the replica of the fort,
which was shown in the television cartoon
"Arabian nights", then Jaisalmer fort is the
place to be. Counted amongst the largest forts in
the world, Jaisalmer fort is the most popular
landmark of Jaisalmer city. Unlike other forts of
Rajasthan, Jaisalmer fort houses museum, shops,
restaurants, residential accommodations, hotels,
etc.

residences. City Palace, overlooking Lake
Pichola, is a monumental complex of 11 palaces,
courtyards and gardens, famed for its intricate
peacock mosaics.
5Udaipur Lake
- Standing on the east bank of Lake Pichola is a
massive series of palaces built at different
times from 1559. Its main entrance is through the
triple-arched gate - the Tripolia, built in 1725.
This gate leads to a series of courtyards,
overlapping partitions, terraces, corridors and
gardens. The palace now houses a museum with many
antique articles, paintings, decorative furniture
and utensils from the royal era.
