Introduction
  • Purchasing your dream home is one thing however,
choosing the flooring options is altogether a
    different task.
  • It's about the elegance and looks yet at an
affordable cost. With so many options available
in the markets it seems a tussle task. Well, the
market is filled with options like wood, vinyl,
    laminate, ceramic, rubber, etc.
  • Of these laminate flooring usually known as
melamine flooring is the simplest way to give the
look of natural flooring at a fraction of the
price. Other than low price, laminates are even
easier to install, thereby saving your costs on
    installation as well.

  • Laminate flooring has a protective coating with a
combination of melamine and aluminum oxide. The
coating changes the aesthetic, giving more
    durability and compromising design.
  • Laminate flooring consists of four layers which
are placed together where the first layer is
plastic, then the melamine flooring that
stabilizes the floor and resists the moisture.
  • Medium or high-density fiberboard will make up
for the core layers that compress together with
    adhesive and resin.

Why engineered flooring over laminate floors?
  • Laminates are synthetic flooring and designed to
only to imitate the appearance of real wood.
Engineered flooring consists of several kinds of
wood or plywood layers. They are produced from
single pieces of wood giving better durability,
    original look, and feel.
  • Melamine floorings are not easy to repair. If
they are installed with glue-down way, then the
floor repair becomes very difficult. They cannot
be sanded or refinished as well. Even if damaged
planks are removed and replaced, the new pieces
won't properly match the rest of the floors.

5
  • Solid or engineered flooring is easier to repair
than laminates. If the surface damage is
extensive, the entire floor could be sanded and
    refinished.
  • Spot repairs can be done easily on oiled hardwood
floors and within a couple of hours.
  • Laminate floors have a shorter lifespan as
compared to engineered hardwood flooring. It is
estimated that laminate floors have to be
replaced more often and accumulate wear and tear,
surface scratches and damages can destroy the
floor. Because engineered floors can be sanded,
they give a lifespan of around 10-20 years.

6
  • Solid hardwood floors are 100 organic as the
planks are produced from single pieces of wood.
It's manufactured from several layers of solid
wood or plywood material which are organic
maintain a healthy environment and good air
quality. Laminates are bond of composite material
and melamine resin at higher temperature and
pressure, a lot of chemical toxins is used in the
    product and its installation.
  • So, heres why engineered wood flooring will
    outcast the melamine flooring!
