Title: Major Problems of India

1
Major Problems In India
  • India is a fastest developing country in the
world. India, with its diversified culture,
    civilization, natural resources, technology and
huge skilled human resources, is also a fastest
growing economy in the world. But at the same
time there are several problems which is
affecting the growth and development of the
    country.

2
These are the Major Problems of India
  • Corruption
  • Illiteracy
  • Unemployment
  • Poverty
  • Pollution
  • Women empowerment
  • Terrorism
  • Caste Based Reservation System

3
Corruption
  • Corruption is one the major problems faced by
    India.
  •  There is hardly any office, in both private and
public sector, that is untouched from this
    disease.
  • Corruption has impacted Indian economy and
government so much that it has its existence from
the lower level to the highest level in the
    hierarchy of power.

4
Illiteracy
  • India has the highest population of illiterate
    adults at 287 million.
  • The illiteracy levels from the year 1991 to 2006
have risen to a whopping 63 percent.
  • 60 lakh children in India are still
    out-of-school.
  • India is ranked 123rd out of 135 countries in
    female literacy rate.

5
Unemployment
  • Unemployment is a situation where in the person
willing to work fails to find a job that earns
    him/her a living.
  • Unemployment in India is projected to increase
from 17.7 million last year to 17.8 million in
2017 and 18 million next year.
  • The reasons for this Unemployment scenario are
    high population, defective education system,
excessive burden on agriculture, low productivity
in agriculture sector combined with lack of
    alternative opportunities for agricultural
    worker, unskilled workforce etc.

6
Poverty
  • At present, 28.5 of the Indian population lives
    below the poverty line.
  • Poverty is just like a disease to which many
other problems such as crime, low-paced
    development, etc are associated.
  • High population growth rate is one of major
    reasons of poverty in India

7
Pollution
  • Pollution refers to the contamination of the
earth's environment with materials that interfere
with human health, quality of life or the natural
    functioning of the ecosystems.
  • The rapid growing industrialization is leading
lots of environmental issues by its uncontrolled
    polluted emission.
  • Pollution is the main reason to lead lots of
disease, health issues and long-term livelihood
    impact.

8
Women empowerment
  • Women empowerment is the empowerment of women
which helps them to take their own decisions by
breaking all personal limitations of the society
    and family.
  • Women are given a top place in India from the
ancient time however they were not given
empowerment to participate in all areas.
  •  Women are given first priority in India however
on the other hand they were badly treated in the
    family and society.

9
Terrorism
  • Terrorism is the unlawful act of violence which
is used by the terrorists to make people fear.
  • Terrorism is used by various social
    organizations, politicians and business
industries to achieve their goals in very easy
    way.
  • Unemployment has been one of the major causes due
to which terrorist groups lure the young
generation easily by providing them hoards of
    easy money.

10
Caste Based Reservation System
  • Reservation is a supportive action taken by the
government for fixed quotas, where some seats in
private and government institutes are reserved
    for socially and educationally backward
    communities, scheduled castes, and tribes.
  •  Even if the student has fewer marks he will get
an advantage of this policy. Thats why a student
from general category and with good marks will
not get the benefit of this.
  • Reservations on the basis of caste and not on the
basis of condition are bad and unacceptable. Fair
and just reservations to uplift the people with
poor conditions of life, those who dont have
meals to eat, clothes to wear and no home to live
    in.
