Why Demat Account?

• To start trading or investing in the stock market
  Demat account is primary requirement.
• Demat account is an account where the shares and
  securities are held in electronic form.
• DP- A / C is also called dematerialised account.

Opening a demat account

STEP 1

• First Visit the depository participant or its
  website with whom you want to proceed the DP-A/C.
• The depository participant can be a broker,
  bank or any agent who acts as a link between the
  depository and the investor.

STEP 2

• You need to fill the demat account procedure
  form.
• The following documents must be
  compulsorily
• attached with the DP account Procedure
  form.
• Pan card
• Identity Proof (i.e. Aadhar card , Voter ID
  Card , etc.)
• Residence proof ( i.e. Aadhar Card, Voter ID
  card, Ration card, etc.)
• Passport size photo with self - attestation

• You will have to sign an agreement with DP in
  the
• depository prescribed standard format,
  Which
• gives details of rights and duties of
  investor and
• DP.
• You are entitled to receive a copy of the
  agreement
• and schedule of charges for future
  reference.

STEP 4

• The DP Will then open an account and give you
  the
• demat account number.
• This is also called beneficial owner
  identification number (BO ID).
• All your purchase / investment in securities
  will be credited to this account. If you sell
  your Securities, your demat account will be
  debited.
