Why are You Need a Podiatrist?
2
The foot is an important part of your body that
bears most of the weight. Most of the foot
problems go away with time. However, there are
some conditions that need immediate attention of
a foot specialist. Here are some signs that
indicate you need a podiatrist
3
Persistent Foot Swelling or Numbness
If you witness persistent swelling and numbness
in your foot, you must visit a podiatrist. The
pain can be caused due to a number of factors.
Tendonitis, broken bone, ankle sprain etc. are
few causes of foot pain. If you feel a burning
sensation in your foot, it can be due to nerve
damage. It is very important to consult a
podiatrist if the pain does not subside in a few
days.
4
Thick Calluses or Corns
In case of stubborn calluses or corns, you may
experience severe pain while walking. This
condition can be caused due to deformity in the
structure of the foot. You must get it checked by
a podiatrist to get rid of the pain.
5
Bone Deformity
Severe pain can be caused due to misalignment or
deformity in the foot. Bunions can be caused
when any tissue at the foot joint moves out of
place. They can exert pressure on the foot which
can further cause the foot to bend. This can lead
to lumps causing severe pain in the foot.
6
A Wound or Sore That does Not Heal
If you have an open sore or a wound that does not
heal quickly, it might lead to severe infection
in the foot. People with Diabetes are more
susceptible to having foot problems. You must
seek a foot specialist if the pain does not
relieve.
7

Flat Foot
Flat foot is a condition in which there is a
structural abnormality in the arches of the foot.
It generally occurs at the time of birth but can
also be caused due to an injury or damage to the
connective tissues in the foot.
