Title: Happy Fathers day 2018
1(No Transcript)
2What is Fathers Day?
Father's Day is celebrated in honor of Fathers
and Father like figures. It is celebrated on the
third Sunday of June in the USA and in some other
countries. On this day people used to honor
their fathers or the father like persons who have
a great contribution and a huge impact in their
lives. Everyone has their own way to celebrate
Father's day. Some people give cards, gifts or
flowers to their fathers, some prefer to dine out
and some spend the whole day with their fathers.
The goal of this day is to honor fathers and make
them feel that how special they are.
3Beginning of Fathers Day
A woman by the name of Sonora Smart Dodd came up
with the idea of honoring and celebrating her
father while listening to a Mothers Day sermon
at church in 1909.
William Smart, a veteran of the Civil War, was
left a widower when his wife died while giving
birth to their sixth child. He went on to raise
the six children by himself on their small farm
in Washington. To show her appreciation for all
the hard work and love William gave to her and
her siblings, Sonora thought there should be a
day to pay homage to him and other dads like him.
She initially suggested June 5th, the anniversary
of her fathers death to be the designated day to
celebrate Fathers Day, but due to some bad
planning, the celebration in Spokane, Washington
was deferred to the third Sunday in June
4Holiday on fathers day?
Father's Day is not a federal holiday in most
countries, with exception to Thailand because it
falls on the same day as the Kings Birthday,
which is a public holiday. For other countries,
Fathers Day is on a Sunday, so public offices
are closed on this day and very few organizations
are open for business. Public transit systems run
to their weekend schedules. It is important for
people wanting to dine in a restaurant on
Fathers Day to think about booking in advance
because restaurants may be busier than usual, as
many people take their fathers out for a treat.
5What Do People Do?
On Fathers Day many people make a special effort
for their fathers or father figures. Some people
visit their fathers, while others give cards,
flowers or other gifts, such as clothing or
sporting equipment, or luxury food items.
Father's Day is a relatively modern holiday, so
different families have different traditions.
These can range from a simple phone call or
greetings card to large parties honoring all
father figures in an extended family. Father
figures can include fathers, step-fathers,
fathers-in-law, grandfathers, great-grandfathers
and even other male relatives.
6What Do People Do?
Father's Day in India is a relatively new concept
but it is celebrated in similar ways as in the
United Kingdom or the United States, although on
a smaller scale by gifting basket flower
arrangement or bunch of red roses.
There is a greater awareness of Fathers Day
events in metropolitan cities and bigger towns
due to the greater exposure of people to the
western cultures in these areas. In Mexico
Fathers Day is referred to as Día del Padre,
where many families get together, prepare meals
and distribute gifts to fathers or father
figures.
In South Africa, many social and cultural
societies host Father's Day celebrations to
stress the important role of fathers in nurturing
children and building stronger society.

9How to celebrate Fathers Day?
Every since you are born father takes all the
responsibilities right from feeding and nurturing
you to a man. A fathers day is an appreciation of
your love and thanking for making all the
sacrifices he did for gifting you a good
lifestyle. You can surprise your daddy with a
gerbera bouquet black forest cupcakes to make
his day special. Fathers dont want some sort of
expensive gifts from you, conveying your love
through a rose also can do the job.
