JNK Signaling Pathway
c-Jun N-terminal protein kinase (JNKs), also
known as stress-activated MAP kinases (SAPKs),
are a family of serine/threonine protein kinases
in the mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK)
regime. The JNK MAPK pathway is predominantly
activated by stress stimuli and plays important
roles in development, apoptosis, cell growth,
inflammatory, and immune responses. SAPK/JNK is
activated not only by many types of cellular
stresses including changes in osmolarity, UV
irradiation, heat shock, cisplatinum
