Aircraft pilot

• An aircraft pilot or aviator is a person who
  controls the flight of an aircraft by operating
  its directional flight controls. 
• Some other aircrew members, such
  as navigators or flight engineers, are also
  considered aviators, because they are involved in
  operating the aircraft's navigation and engine
  systems.

• A maritime pilot, also known as a marine
  pilot, harbor pilot or bar pilot and sometimes
  simply called a pilot, is a sailor who
  maneuvers ships through dangerous or congested
  waters, such as harbors or river mouths.
• He or she is normally an ex ship captain and a
  highly experienced ship handler who possesses
  detailed knowledge of the particular waterway,
  e.g. actual depth, direction and strength of the
  wind, current and tide at any time of the day.
• The pilot is a navigational expert for the port
  of call.

• A television pilot is a standalone episode of
  a television series that is used to sell the show
  to a television network.
• At the time of its creation, the pilot is meant
  to be the testing ground to gauge whether a
  series will be successful, and is therefore a
  test episode of an intended television series.
