1What is Sanskrit Language?
- Sanskrit is the primary liturgical language of
Hinduism a philosophical language of Hinduism,
Sikhism, Buddhism, and Jainism and a literary
language and lingua franca for the educated of
ancient and medieval South Asia. Sanskrit is
normally written in the Devanagari script but
other scripts continue to be used. It continues
to be widely used as a ceremonial language in
Hindu religious rituals and Buddhist practice in
the form of hymns and chants. In India, Sanskrit

to the Constitution. The state of Uttarakhand in

written records may have been in Sanskrit. It was
probably the texts that make of the Rigveda,

3Characteristics of Sanskrit Language
- Sanskrit is the language of the world's oldest
book (Vedas). Therefore, there is no possibility
