Title: Air Conditioning Repair Services
1Air Conditioner Repair Tips
2Check the Settings
Most AC units have a thermostat for controlling
the temp and a fan-only option. This seems like
common sense, but youd be surprised how many
people dont realize the AC is switched to
fan-only instead of blasting out cold air.
3Check the Breaker
A central air circuit has a breaker box and
sometimes the issue is that the breaker has been
tripped. This cuts off all power to the circuit
and turns the air off. Locate the breaker box and
make sure the breaker has not been tampered
4Check Your Thermostat
Some thermostats are battery operated and might
just need new batteries. This is a cheap and
simple fix. Also, be sure that the thermostat
temp is set below the room temp so the unit knows
when to kick on.
5Change the Filter
Theres no need to call in a pro to change the
filter on an AC. If its dirty and clogged, it is
probably blogging the air from getting
through but its easy to replace most hardware
stores will have replacement filters for units of
all sizes.
6Examine the Ducts
The air ducts in a house can get dirty and block
central air from flowing through them. If they
are severely blocked, it may require professional
help to clean them.
7Thaw Frozen Coils
Turn the thermostat up much higher than the room
temp or set the switch to Fan Only and let it run
for a few hours while youre out of the house.
This will thaw out frozen coils and help the unit
function more effectively.
