What island should I visit during a Naxos day
trip ?

• There is almost a dozen of sailing boats doing
  sailing day trips from Naxos, but they are not
  all equal. Some of them spend just a few minutes
  at each stop and then you rush to the next stop,
  some of them take their time, even if it means
  seeing less.

• In my experience, seeing less spots means seeing
  more, more details, more relaxed day, you feel
  better, and you end up enjoying the day much
  more. Therefor, a question arise what island
  should you visit absolutely during your naxos day
  trips ?

• Well, the answer may vary depending on what you
  are looking for, and when you are travelling. In
  general, Pano Koufonisi is very packed during
  high peak season, so I would avoid it from the
  15th of July until the 25th of August. Except
  during this period, this island is a gem! The
  water is so blue, there are lots of beaches to
  explore, and a day trip from Naxos may not be
  enough!

• Schinousa is always a good destination, not
  crowded. During high season, there are some super
  yachts anchoring in the bay trying to hide from
  paparazzi. If these people are going there
  because its quite, I think it is a great
  opportunity to go with one of the naxos sailing
  tours there. Schinousa is also well know for the
  quality of its food.

• Iraklia is a great destination too, as the people
  are really friendly, and the island is really
  calm and charming. There is a tiny dock in a bay
  north of the island that is worth docking just
  for a dive if you cant do better. A couple of
  Naxos day trips are going there, but ask, as it
  may depend on the weather.

• To summarise, avoid Koufonisi in August, and go
  everywhere in the small cyclades, its really
  worth it! And dont forget that the best way to
  explore this archipelago is sailing with one of
  the Naxos day trips.
