Title: Car Care Tips for better performance
1Car Care Tips for better performance
2- Most measures are really straightforward.
Basically it all comes down to getting into good
routines, following best practices and managing
potential issues before they become a problem.
For some great tips on how to care for your car,
weve put all our expert advice in one place.
3Basic maintenance schedule
- Every vehicle has its own set of individual
characteristics. To keep these in tip-top
condition, your vehicle will have a list of good
maintenance best practices, developed by the
manufacturer and described in your Owners Manual
(OM).
4- In fact, we pride ourselves on being tech savvy.
Through our advanced vehicle software, we are
able to recognize each individual vehicle and
provide service recommendations tied directly to
your vehicles scheduled service intervals.
Warranty service intervals are then maintained to
warranty approved specifications. Not only is
this convenient, it provides peace of mind for
both you and your car.
5- To give you a rough idea of some of the
recommended periods to leave between different
auto maintenance procedures, Car Care Canada have
put together a set of general guidelines, but we
recommend that you always follow your owners
manual

7What else your vehicle need?
- The maintenance services listed above are only
the general services that apply to the majority
of vehicles. It is possible that your vehicle may
need more frequent checks and replacements than
has been stated. This is because, just like their
owners, vehicles have their own special
requirements needed to keep them happy.
Manufacturers will sometimes recommend unique
maintenance measures, such as periodic flushing
and refilling of the brake hydraulic system. The
best way to find out is to have a good read
through your owner's manual or drop into a Mr.
Lube for our expert opinion.
8Extend the Life of Your Vehicle
- Its a simple fact. The nicer you are to your
car, the nicer it will be to you. Sure it wont
last forever, but a little TLC can make a big
difference. Here are a few car care tips to keep
in mind
9- Get in the habit of regular engine oil and filter
replacements They are the biggest factor when
it comes to your vehicles life. - Replace your timing belt in accordance with your
vehicle manufacturer's recommendations This is
generally about every 100,000 km. When in doubt,
check your owner's manual.
10- Properly align and balance your tires Having
your wheels properly aligned and balanced makes
tires last longer. It is a good idea to rotate
tires every 10,000 km to preserve them. If you
frequently drive at high speeds or negotiate
tight turns in parking areas, this should be done
even sooner.
11- Schedule preventive maintenance Remember that
preventive maintenance should be a part of your
yearly scheduled car maintenance. Vehicles, like
people, need to refresh sometimes.
12- Take your car onto the highway at least once a
month If you regularly drive in stop-and-go
traffic, you should take your car on routes where
you can legally drive (yes, legally) at highway
speed for at least 20 minutes, at least once a
month. This will heat up the engine and burn off
condensation that can attack both the oil and the
internal parts of the engine.
13- Wash and wax your car regularly Keeping your
vehicle looking good shouldnt be underestimated
when it comes to your car maintenance checklist.
It helps prevent damaging rust from occurring by
repairing paint chips and dents as soon as they
appear. Keeping your vehicle washed and waxed
regularly and having undercoating applied based
on driving conditions will also help keep your
vehicle looking great.
