Who Are We?
Fishing Lake Métis Settlement (in Cree,
Packechawanis) is one of the original twelve
colonies of the Métis people in Alberta, and one
of the eight that now remain. As an independent,
self-governing community our connections to each
other and the outside world are incredibly
important, and our website exists to build and
strengthen those connections.
