Allen Heffler
  • IS MEDICARE SUPPLEMENT PLAN F GOING AWAY

2
  • There is a lot of talk about Medicare Supplement
Plan F being eliminated. We asked Allen Heffler,
President of MyMedicareAdvisor a set of question
to hopefully clear up this issue and to separate
    fact from fiction.
  • Question 1- What happens to people who
currently own a Medicare Supplement Plan F?
  • Heffler- "For those Medicare Beneficiaries who
currently are on a Medigap Plan F, they can keep
it for as long as choose to. They will not be
    forced to make any changes.

3
  • Question 2- Can someone buy a Medicare
    Supplement Plan F today?
  • Heffler- "Yes! Anyone eligible for Medicare Part
A before January 1, 2020 can enroll in Plan F and
keep it for as long as like.
  • Question 3- Is Plan F going away?
  • Heffler- " No it isn't going away"

4
  • Question 4- If I am going onto Medicare after
2020. what plan is similar to Plan F?
  • Heffler- "Medicare Supplement Plan G would be a
great option. It is almost identical to Medigap
Plan F, with only one small exception. Medigap
Plan F covers the Part B annual deductible (in
2017-183). Medigap Plan G- you have to pay that
Part B deductible. Other than that, the plans are
    exactly the same."

5
  • Question 5- So, what exactly is all the talk
    about Plan F then?
  • Heffler- "For anyone who becomes eligible for
Medicare Part A AFTER January 1, 2020, Medicare
Supplement Plan F will NOT be available.
  • Question 6- Why is Medicare doing this?
  • Heffler- "Every ten years or so, Medicare makes
changes to their plans. With increased costs,
Congress decided that they want to eliminate
    first dollar plans

6
  • plans and to have Medicare benefiaries to have
more skin in the game. Rightly or wrongly, it has
been argued that beneficiaries see doctors more
often with first dollar plans. Thus, they wanted
to eliminate those plans that offer full
    coverage."
  • Allen Heffler states "We realize that all of this
can be quite confusing. You can go it alone and
try to make sense of it all. Or you can make one
phone call to us at (215) 658-1776. We will
answer your questions clearly and concisely and
provide you with the best options at the lowest
    cost.
  • Here at MyMedicareAdvisor we make your Medicare
    decision easy."
