  • PV Sindhu was born on 5th July 1995, to P. V.
    Ramana and P. Vijaya. Both her parents are former
    professional Volleyball players and her Ramana
    was also conferred with the Arjuna Award for his
    achievements in Volleyball.

  • Pusarla Venkata Sindhu started playing badminton
    the age of 8.

  • The 22-year-old is extremely hard working and
    despite living 65 km away from her training
    center, PV Sindhu never skipped a single training
    session which usually started at 4 am daily.

  • PV Sindhu is a big fan of Pullela Gopichand, who
    is a former Indian badminton sensation and she
    drew inspiration from Gopichands success in All
    England Open Badminton Championship in 2001,
    where he won the tournament after defeating Chen
    Hong by 15-12, 15-6.

    ranked the No.10 in the world.

    womens singles badminton player to win a medal
    at the World Championship. She repeated her
    performance by bagging the bronze medal in the
    next year, as well.

    semi-finals in womens single category.
  • In 2015, PV Sindhu entered the final of a Super
    Series event called Denmark Open.

    woman to enter an Olympic final after defeating
    Nozomi Okuhara of Japan in Rio Olympics the
    semi-finals.
