  It mostly occurs in persons who are in a
  continued chronical state that cannot be
  recovered.

Societal view on Euthanasia

• Different societies have conflicting views on
  these forms of euthanasia. Buddhism for
  instance, they forbid taking the life of some one
  intentionally thus forbidding voluntary
  euthanasia. According to them, death brings a
  rebirth of another new life and the quality of
  the next life will be determined by the karma.
  Therefore shortening their life meddles with
  karmas working.
