all is the one from the Arabian Nights, the one
in which Aladdin flies around in the desert,
going on one adventure after the other. The
carpets in your home may not take you on flying
trips, unfortunately. But then thats not to say
that the carpets are not without their use- and
aside from functionality, theres also the matter
of grandeur of appearance that they bring to the
interiors. And its this latter aspect which can
be badly affected when the carpet is unclean for
some reason, when some stain or the other has
taken away its visual charm. The fact that
carpets can be hard to clean doesnt make matters
easy for you either. Which is why we bring you

1. Beer
In a sense, its almost inevitable that some
coffee or tea ends up spilled on the carpet-for
the carpet usually is found near where you have
the morning cup of the drink of your choice. And
the stain on the carpet would invariably look
ugly. However, you can clean the stain out by
using a little beer. All you have to do is rub
the beer across the part of the carpet where the
stain is. You may have to repeat the process a
few times if the stain is particularly harsh.

2. Milk Corn-starch
If some ink was spilled on the carpet, bringing
some milk would make things better. So, what if
that didnt rhyme, its still true. Seriously
though, you can make a mix of milk and
corn-starch. The resultant paste can then be
applied to the ink stain on the carpet. Let the
concoction dry on the carpet for some hours after
which you can just brush off the dried residue
and them vacuum.

3. Baking soda
If its vomit or urine stains that you wish to
remove from the carpet, baking soda might be your
best choice. Before applying it, wipe out however
much you can. Then pour the baking soda on the
affected region and then pat the surface using a
paper towel. Allow the baking soda to dry
completely and then vacuum the residue. In
addition to cleaning, baking soda also brings in
a good aroma.

4. Shaving cream
Well, who would have thought that shaving cream
would be such a useful thing for cleaning your
carpet? It turns out that if you have a hard
spill of some soft drink on the carpet, the stain
can be removed with the aid of shaving cream.
First you blot the stain, then pat it using a wet
sponge before spraying some cream on it. After
that, just us a web sponge to clean it off.

5. Salt
If some ketchup has spilled on the carpet, you
are advised to act quickly since once the ketchup
dries up, its all but impossible to be cleaned.
And the first thing you should be reaching for is
salt. Just sprinkle salt on the area and allow it
to absorb the ketchup for few minutes before
vacuuming.
