About UHSA
The University of Health Sciences Antigua campus
is in Dowhill, Antigua. UHSA's School of Medicine
and Macedonia School of Nursing both have a
distinguished history of providing a vigorous
education to students of high academic potential
since 1982.
UHSA has initiatives not found in many of the
other schools in our region. Our curriculum is
organ system based and allows for an integrated
approach to teaching and learning during the
basic science years, similar to most U.S.
schools. This method of teaching allows for
learning in small groups, independent study and
the early integration of clinical experiences.

UHSA Medical School
The University of Health Sciences Medical School
curriculum provides students with a comprehensive
course of study that prepares students for the
future. Students complete the Basic Sciences
on-Campus in Antigua and the Clinical Sciences
are taught at UHSAs affiliated teaching
hospitals located in the United States, United
Kingdom, and Puerto Rico. Several M.D. programs
are available to potential students wishing to
pursue medicine including the Traditional M.D.

Macedonia Nursing School
The Macedonia nursing program is a three-year
program leading to the Bachelor of Science in
nursing (BSN). The BSN program mirrors the
curriculum standards of U.S. nursing schools and
follows the guidelines of the Caribbean Regional
Nursing Board. Students receive excellent
training from highly credentialed nursing and
other faculty. Graduates can practice in the USA
and the Caribbean as well as other parts of the

The Standardized Patient (SP) Program is an
integral part of UHSAs Medical Education. It
gives medical, and nursing students the real-life
experience necessary to develop and continuously
