INTERNET OF THINGS and Artificial intelligence
  • Presented by Azeem Adam BS(IT) 6th M

CONTENTS
  • Internet Of Things
  • Artificial intelligence
  • Difference between IOT and AI
  • Contributions of IOT and AI
  • Issues of IOT and AI
  • Reference

3
Internet Of Things
  • Internet of Things represents a general concept
for the ability of network devices to sense and
collect data from the world around us, and then
share that data across the Internet where it can
be processed and utilized for various interesting
    purposes.

4
Internet Of Things
  • A proposed development of the internet in which
    everyday objects have network connectivity,
allowing them to send and receive data.

5
Artificial Intelligence
  • Artificial Intelligence is a way of making a
    computer, a computer-controlled robot, or a
software think intelligently, in the similar
    manner the intelligent humans think.

6
Pakistani Robotics
7
Artificial intelligence
  • According to the father of Artificial
Intelligence, John McCarthy, it is The science
and engineering of making intelligent machines,
    especially intelligent computer programs.

8
Difference b/w IoT and AI (1.)
  • Internet of Things
  • is the internetworking of physical devices like
    vehicles, buildings, electronic devices, sensors,
actuators etc that are capable of communicating
among themselves (sensor 1 to sensor 2, sensor 2
to sensor 3 and so on) or
  • With the external environment (sensor to
vehicles, vehicles to humans) that are equipped
with devices capable of communicating over a
    network.

9
Difference b/w IoT and AI (2.)
  • Artificial Intelligence
  • is a field of computer science in which a
machine is equipped with the ability to mimic
cognitive functions of a human that can make
decisions based on its past experiences or
responding to an action that it was completely
unaware until that time. It will be given a goal
and it continuously tries to improve its
performance from its past actions to the best
    reach the goal.

10
Difference b/w IoT and AI (3.)
  • In IoT, the devices are set to give a fixed set
    of commands like
  • Switch of the lights when a person leaves the
room.(let's say communication between a light and
a wearable device on the person based on GPS)
  • Open the garage door when a car approaches.
(communication between a sensor 1 on garage door
and a sensor 2 on the car)

11
Difference of IOT and AI
  • In AI, a machine will be equipped with a learning
mechanism and a neutral network something similar
to a Brain which enables a cognitive ability,
where the machine will learn by understanding and
adopting to the environment that it is surrounded
    with and making rational decisions.
  • Here the machine/devices is not coded with what
to do and what not to but coded with an ability
to learn and understand itself what to do and
    what not to.

12
Contributions of IoT and AI (1.)
  • IOT
  • Receiving warnings on your phone or wearable
device when IOT networks detect some physical
    danger is detected nearby
  • Self-parking automobiles
  • Automatic ordering of groceries and other home
    supplies
  • Automatic tracking of exercise habits and other
    day-to-day personal activity including goal
    tracking and regular progress reports

13
Contributions of IoT and AI (2.)
  • AI
  • Natural Language Processing - It is possible to
interact with the computer that understands
    natural language spoken by humans.
  • Vision Systems - These systems understand,
interpret, and comprehend visual input on the
    computer. For example,
  • A spying aero plane takes photographs, which
are used to figure out spatial information or map
    of the areas.
