Louis Jadot Bonnes Mares 2005
Good bright, full red. Brooding aromas of
medicinal blueberry and menthol lifted by
brilliant high notes of rose petal, mace and
minerals. Compellingly deep and young, even
youthfully imploded today, but this already
boasts brilliant detail and energy and an
exhilarating high pitch. Penetrating, powerful
blue fruits, graphite, flowers and minerals stain
the palate with flavor and will not quit. A great
Bonnes-Mares for the Musigny lover. Should gain
in bottle for two decades and go on for another
two.

Bonneau du Martray Corton Charlemagne 2000
6
Bonneau du Martray Corton Charlemagne 2000.The
aromas are riper than the 2000 version though
with a similar mix of green apple, melon and
muscat notes followed by extremely fresh and
wonderfully pure chardonnay fruit suffused
through and through by an intense stoniness
followed by relatively big and still quite tight
middle weight, taut, muscular flavors of
considerable tension and breed. This is a
stunning effort for the vintage and may
ultimately equal the excellent 2000.

Chateau Montrose 2003
The blend in 2003 was 62 Cabernet Sauvignon,
34 Merlot (a very high percentage), 3 Cabernet
Franc and 1 Petit Verdot. The wine, unlike most
2003s, has a freshness and liveliness provided by
their extraordinary terroir. This wine can be
drunk now. It has a dense bluish/purple color to
the rim and an extraordinary nose of blueberries
and mulberries, with blacker cassis and
blackberry entering the picture. Scorched earth,
spice and licorice are all present in this
magnificent, full-bodied, opulent wine that is
very Montrose, very classic and somewhat atypical
of the vintage.

Chateau LEglise Clinet 2000
This has everything. Super class and elegance yet
ripe and exciting. Fantastic aromas of
blackberries cherries violets and minerals.
Full-bodied with incredible raspberry cherry
mineral and silky tannins. Very long. Winemaker
Denis Durantou is a purist and it shows. Best

Chateau Cos dEstournel 2000
Collectibles Absolutely gorgeous on the nose,
with currants, blackberries and freshly cut
flowers. Full-bodied, with ultrafine tannins and
a solid core of fruit. This goes on and on on the
palate. The essence of class and refinement.
Relatively good value, considering the superb
quality. No better Cos since 1989
