2Human Cadaver Dissection
Students participate in a variety of dissections
of the human body to gain a more in depth
understanding of the structure and function of
the human body and the mechanisms for maintaining
homeostasis within it. The muscular, skeletal,
endocrine, cardiovascular, lymphatic,
respiratory, digestive, urinary and reproductive
systems, as well as the concepts of development,
and integration.

3Preservation
In most cases, low concentrations of
2-Phenoxyethanol, or other chemicals with similar
properties, are used to preserve the cadavers for
study. 2-Phenoxyethanol is classified as a
carcinogen. It is imperative, therefore, that the
doors remain closed during courses so that the
ventilation system is optimized and your exposure
to these chemicals is reduced.
