About Us
What Should We Get? started with a passion for
quirky gifts and gadgets specifically, my own
passion. As an account coordinator within an
advertising agency, I used to jump to undertake
the task of finding gifts for work colleagues on
behalf of the office. The churn-and-burn nature
of advertising means an ongoing need to purchase
farewell and promotion gifts, and I was always up
for the task. Id spend hours sifting through
gift guides, articles, and stores to find the
perfect funky gifts for my coworkers. I wanted to
find unique items that my officemates would
appreciate, or at least have a hard time
forgetting. Inevitably, I also added to my own
personal gadget collection in my quest to find
the perfect gifts for others. The office gadgets
and tools I bought for others, I developed a
personal affinity for. One might even call it an
obsession. As I climbed the ranks in my
organization, the amount of time I was able to
invest in gift shopping sadly dwindled, and I
realized there was a need for an online platform
where shoppers such as myself could find a curate
selection of quirky, unique gifts and gadgets. As
a natural result, What Should We Get? was born. I
am now lucky enough to spend my time doing the
important work of helping other people find
one-of-a-kind gifts.
