ABSTRACT
  • Our project aims at developing a Hybrid
    powered multi cleaning vehicle that can clean the
    waste particles lying in the railway tracks
    effectively which provides clean green station.
  • The vehicle is operated with the help of
    dual power i.e. solar power and battery. Thus Eco
    friendly environment can be obtained by the
    hybrid cleaning vehicle because of the harmless
    energy sources.

INTRODUCTION
  • Railways are a very large network
    controlled by the Indian government. Railways are
    the most preferred mode of transport for the
    masses in India,running 9,000 trains, reaching
    8,000 stations and handling approximately 1.6
    crores passengers per day.
  • The main drawback in the Railways is
    that the amount of waste and garbages which are
    dumped in the railway tracks by the passengers
    every day.

MANUAL CLEANING METHODS
  • The Clean Train Station scheme introduced for the
    route cleaning of trains was largely ineffective
    due to a number of deficiencies in its
    Implementation.
  • There are lots of conventional cleaning methods
    which are used by the Indian railway systems
    which are done manually.
  • Some of the methods are by using a high powered
    water jet on the railway tracks where the wastes
    are present, picking the plastic wastes manually,
    etc.

ELECTRIC BATTERY - An electric battery is a
device consisting of one or more electrochemical
cells that convert stored chemical energy into
electrical energy. BELT AND PULLEY SYSTEM - Belt
and Pulley Systems are used when there is a need
to transmit motion. ELECTRIC MOTORS - An
electric motor is an electromechanical device
that converts electrical energy into mechanical
energy.

ROTARY BROOMS - Brooms that were cable-wrapped
wire are one of the first type used by sweepers.
VACUUM CLEANERS - A vacuum cleaner is a device
that uses an air pump to create a partial vacuum
to suck up dust and dirt. SOLAR PANEL Solar
panel refers to a panel to absorb the suns rays
as a source of energy for generating
electricity.

PROJECT METHODOLOGY
  • The frame is fixed with two pairs of wheels which
    are connected with the help of shafts.
  • A motor (0.25Hp) is connected to the shaft which
    connects the rear wheels, through which power can
    be transmitted to the wheels and the system can
    be moved.
  • At the front end, a pair of rotary brooms is
    connected by means of a flat belt drive.
  • The two rotary brooms rotate in opposite
    direction, thereby pulling the wastes in between
    the two rollers.

  • A horizontal rotating brush is placed which dumps
    the wastes from the rotary brooms into waste
    collecting tank.
  • At the rear end of the frame, a vacuum pump setup
    is placed. It consists of two suction mouths.
  • These two suction mouths are operated by means of
    scotch yoke mechanism.
  • By using this mechanism, the waste particles
    present outside the track lane can also be
    effectively removed.
  • The power stored in the battery is obtained with
    the help of solar cells which are mounted on the
    top of the frame.

ADVANTAGES
  • It can be used to clean the tracks quickly than
    the conventional cleaning methods.
  • Time consumption is very low
  • It is free from harmful microbes.
  • One labour is enough to operate the entire system
  • The waste can be removed from the tank easily
    since the tanks are made up of composite
    materials which possess very less weight.

APPLICATIONS
  • The HYBRID MULTI CLEANING VEHICLE can be employed
    in the Railway tracks of various gauges by
    altering the frame size

CONCLUSION
  • Thus, with the help of HYBRID MULTI CLEANING
    VEHICLE we will be able to clean the wastes
    dumped in the Railway tracks in a very easy and
    efficient way.
  • This machine will overcome the human effort and
    saves time.
  • Various methods are already being used in the
    foreign countries, but in India it is not
    possible to use those machines because of the
    economic background. So, we can use this machine
    for track cleaning.
