Library Management System is a software
application to maintain the records related to
Book Purchase, Stock Maintenance, Book Search,
Catalog, Book Issue, Book Returns, Fine
Collection, and all necessary requirements for
the Library to manage day to day operations.
3 Objectives
The main objective of the application is to
automate the existing system of manually maintain
the records of the Book Issue, Book Return from
the student, Stock Maintenance, Catalog and Book
Search to be computerized. So the Book Issue,
Return, Searching will be faster

- Online book issue
- Request column for librarian for providing new
books - A separate column for digital library
- Student login page where student can find books
issued by him/her and date of return. - A search column to search availability of books
- A teacher login page where teacher can add any
events being organized in the college and
important suggestions regarding books. - Online notice board about the workshop.

- Using library management system the librarian can
catalogue and maintain all types of books,
journals, CD's etc. - Provision to request for new titles, journals and
magazines. - Powerful search engine allows users to find
information in the library in no time. - Charge users for lost/damaged books.

- Newspapers attendance is maintained.

- HARDWARE REQUIREMENTS
- 512 megabytes (MB) of RAM (1 GB recommended)
- 500 MB of free hard disk space
- A monitor that can display a resolution of 1024
768 - SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS
- Operating system- Windows 7 is used as the
operating system as it is stable and supports
more features and is more user friendly - Database MYSQL-MYSQL is used as database as it
easy to maintain and retrieve records by simple
queries which are in English language which are
easy to understand and easy to write. - Development tools and Programming language- HTML
is used to write the whole code and develop
webpages with css, java script for styling work
and php for sever side scripting.
7Feasibility Analysis
- Technical feasibility
- It will need a web server, to which it gets from
the internet, at run time. Expandability will be
maintained in the new system. New modules can
be added later on the application, if required in
the future. - Operational feasibility
- The system will be easy to use as user interface
is GUI based. The system is easy to use so no any
special skills will be required to use the
system. New user will find it easy to use .So the
project will be operationally feasible. - Economic feasibility
- The procedure is to determine the benefit and
savings that are expected from the project and
compare them with the cost. As internet is the
cheapest way of communication, we can perform
communication using web. The cost is just
the cost of using the internet based on the
channel allocation. So the project will be
economically feasible.
