The Challenge

• Pilferage of rebars during transit and
  storage was one of the concerns of the company.
  Previously the company used to invest time and
  human resources to weigh the material in order to
  prevent pilferage. Usually, the process involved
  a dedicated person accompanying the vehicle
  carrying rebars from the OEM yard to their sites
  as a preventive measure. However, this process
  was time-consuming and involved more investment
  in labour.

The Tiscon ReadyBuild Solution

• Tata Tiscon provided customized pilfer-proof
  packaging for rebars of different diameters and
  shapes to meet customer requirements. U-shaped
  and lollipop-shaped packaging was developed for
  rebars in bent bundles. LDPE (low density
  polyethylene) packaging was developed for
  straight length rebars. With customized
  packaging, the concern over pilferage could be
  minimized, thus saving on time and money.

• It also eased material handling as customers
  saved on time and had no need of human resources
  to weigh the material. There was noticeable
  reduction in corrosion at ends due to full length
  packaging of rebars.
