How Do I Teach My Students to Paraphrase Text

We teach students that they should be
able to retell their texts, so that they could
reword their information. Its one of the main
educational aims they have to reach. To do it,
some students use a paraphrase service, which
leads them to certain results.

Sure thing in schools we teach students ever
ything what is needed, but they are not here
24/7, thats why at home they can check through
paraphrase tool online that the assignment they
have is done correctly. They can do it on their
own and see their mistakes and results
immediately.

While doing their home assignment, students
often make mistakes, not even realizing it. And
there is a way for them to understand how to
change their errors. My suggestion to them is
that they should find the best paraphrase tool to
see if there is anything to be changed in their
writings.

Most of the tasks for students must be done in
the written form. Thats why I consider its
completely OK that they use a paraphrasing online
tool, because they have to rewrite it from the
computer over and over again and they start
realizing what they are writing and why it is
like this. Its just a possibility for them to
perfect their writing skills.

The principle of rewriting text works best of
all. There are many advantages of it. Although
students can summarize and paraphrase online,
they are to do this assignment in writing on
their own first. Thats why when they rewrite
everything into their copybooks they realize the
rules twice.

Sometimes when they paraphrase essay online I
give a task to compare two texts the one retold
by themselves and the one done online. And you
know what? The best part here is that they give
great realized explanation to the differences of
these two texts and why that one is better than
the other. They get more mature in writing while
comparing and explaining.

Now practically all my students know all the
rules of retelling and rewording, what will do
good to them in their future. They can even judge
on their own which is the best online
paraphrasing tool. So this way I reached my
purpose to make them develop and work on their
own.
