Title: Understanding the Differences between Duplication and CD/DVD Replication
1Understanding the Differences between Duplication
and CD/DVD Replication
2At MAD CDs, they offer a comprehensive range of
services related to CDs and DVDs and two most
popular are CD/DVD replication and Duplication.
The Process Of Duplication
- Almost similar to burning CD/DVDs at home on
your PC - Involves extracting data from the master disc and
writing on blank disc - Duplication facility burns hundreds at a time on
the linked towers - The tower contains several CD/DVD trays to create
multiple copies simultaneously - After completion, data is verified with the
master data
3The Process Of Replication
- In DVD/CD replication, discs are created during
the manufacturing process - The client master is painstakingly evaluated for
data corruption - A flawless glass master having data is created to
develop a stamper - This stamper is loaded into injection molding
machine that create replicated discs
4The Process Of Replication
Full color printing is catered with no pre-press
charge
The turn-out time is around 2-3 business days
Can run for up to 5000 copies
5ADVANTAGES OF CD/DVD REPLICATION
- Can have 1 and 2 layers of data on different
kinds of discs - They assemble discs into jewel cases, paper/tyvek
sleeves, amaray cases, or cardboard sleeves
The cost involved is much lower than the process
of duplication
Both offset printing and screen printing is
available
