CELLUON EVO MOUSE AND WORKING
KRUTHIKA LEKSHMI.M.G, ARUNACHALA COLLEGE OF
ENGINEERING FOR WOMEN.

2
ABSTRACTION
  • This paper aims to solve the problems of mouse.
  • Celulon wants to take the evolution one step
further by removing the hand held device
altogether, turning your desk into a virtual
    touch screen.
  • The new EVO MOUSE a pet dog shaped that
functions differently and not like the other
mouse. The design of this device is the shape of
the dog, which is why it is named as PET.
  • .

3
INTRODUCTION
  • The traditional mouse has certainly seen an
evolution over the last ten years, moving from
the crud collecting ball version with serial
connections to laser guided devices that plugs
    into any USB port.
  • Celluon now wants to take the evolution one step
further by removing the hand held device
altogether, turning your desk into a virtual
    touch screen.

4
EARLY MOUSE
  • .
  • The first functional mouse was actually
demonstrated by Douglas Engelbart a researcher
from the Stanford Research Institute, back in
    1963.
  • Engelbart product was not the first pointing
    device.
  • The name trackball comes from the fact that
the respective device actually used a standard
    Canadian five-pin bowling ball.

.
5
MECHANICAL MOUSE
.
  • German company Telefunken published on their
    ball mouse on October2,1968.
  • Telefunken's mouse was then sold commercially as
    optional equipment for  computers.

.
LASER MOUSE
  • As 1998, Sun Microsystems provided a laser mouse
with their Sun SPARC station servers and
    workstations.

.
  • .
  • These mice are considered as effective, sensitive
and accurate devices as they support better
    tracking ability.

3D MOUSE
  • Also known as bats, flying mice, or wands, these
devices generally function through ultrasound and
provide at least three degrees of freedom.
Probably the best known example would be 3D
connection / Logitech's Space Mouse from the
    early 1990s.

8
EVO MOUSE
  • The Evo Mouse is the evolution of the computer
mouse. It is the latest and portable device which
is the most cutting version of the mouse today.
  • Evo Mouse is a dog shaped device that
functions differently and not like the other
    mice.
  • .

9
TECHNOLOGY USED
  • In the Celluon Evo Mouse device, the technology
is basically made up of two principle components
  • 3D Electronic Perception Sensor Chips
  • Image Processing Software
  • .

10
3D ELECTRONIC PERCEPTION TECHNOLOGY
  • Electronic Perception Technology (EPT) is a low
    cost.
  • Single chip imagining technology that enables
electronic components to form a 3D map of their
surroundings and see what their users are doing.
  • .

11
IMAGE PROCESSING
  • Image processing is any form of signal processing
for which the input is an image.
  • Output of an image processing may be either an
image or a set of characteristics or parameter
    related to an image.

12
HOW IT WORKS?
  • The Evo mouse pet looks like a small box with
    legs,almost like a crouching animal.
  • It turns any flat surface in to a virtual
trackpad with your finger as a pointer.
  • It sits right at the position where you would
    usually place a mouse.

13
PRINCIPLE AND COMPONENT
  • Celluon use the TIME OF FLIGHTprinciple to
    detect motion of object.
  • Important components are are indicators of system
in operation, not for TOF function.

14
WHAT IS LINE CAP
  • A normal LASER focused at a single point.
  • A LINE CAP on to any LASER would make it emit in
a plane ,generating a line when focused on any
    subject.
  • This line generated creates a plane which is what
    we require.

15
MAKING OF AN IR CAMERA
  • Unscrew the lens assembly from its holder .the
focus on most webcams is achieved using the
thread is also used to hold the lens in.
  • Remove IR filter ,IR filter stops IR light
    getting through to the sensor.
  • Find a bit absolute black photographic film you
can usually find a bit before the real photos
    start cut small bit out.

16
FUNCTIONS OF EVO MOUSE
17
Mouse using finger
  • To write in your own digital handwriting.

Fig. Paint or Draw
Fig. Digital Handwriting
18
CONDITIONS TO AVOID
  • 1. Avoid direct sunlight.
  • 2. Avoid low color temperature light source,
such as tungsten, halogen, or incandescent lamp.
  • 3. Avoid uneven or irregular surfaces. Place
    the product on flat surfaces.
  • 4. Avoid a table or surface that is as
transparent or reflective as glass or mirror.

19
EVO MOUSE SPECIFICATION
  • Evolution of the computer mouse.
  • Finger works as a pointer.
  • Works almost on any surface.
  • Little space needed.
  • Using your fingers you can control the cursor,
click and select, double-click, right-click and
    drag with basic hand gestures.
  • Multi-touch functionality including scroll,
    rotate, zoom, forward and back.

20
ALGORITHM FOR RIGHT AND LEFT CLICK
  • Idea for right click to show two fingers to the
camera and calculate the total sum of the two
BIG blobs and decide a threshold for area.
  • B Signifies black frame without any blob.
  • W- Signifies frame with blobs in it.

21
SOFTWARE USED
  • Dev-Cpu 5.3.0.3 as an editor and compiler.
  • Open CV library 2.1 for image processing.
  • CV blob library to track blobs.

22
COMPACTABILITY
  • It works with PCs and laptops with Windows XP,
Vista or Windows 7 as operating systems.

23
CONCLUSION
  • We say it is portable, and fits perfectly for
people on-the-go. However, if youre much of a
gamer, it may take a little while before you
master its functions and find it helpful.
