Title: Use Parking Sensors And Mirrors Together
1Use Parking Sensors And Mirrors Together
2If your car does not have parking aids, you need
to know that they are very easy to fit. Most new
cars do have them, but they could be basic and
you may want to add additional sensors to give
you a better overall view of what is going on
around you. The cheapest versions available are
the ones where you have to drill holes in your
bumper to accommodate the two wire connection
that is necessary for them to work. If you are
handy with simple electrics you may be able to
fit Front and Rear Parking Sensors yourself as
the kits contain instructions on how to do it.
Alternatively, if you are not sure, you may have
the retailer fit them for you.
3Because our high streets are now so congested and
spaces in car parks getting ever smaller, you
will find these aids allow you to park neatly in
the tiniest spots. Manoeuvrability in some car
parks has also become more difficult. With
people milling about and cars bunched close
together, you will know when you are close to an
object when the beeps from the Front and Rear
Parking Sensors become more rapid. It will
make your actions easier and, therefore, stress
levels will go down. There are two kinds
available to you the one that emits
electro-magnetic waves and the other is an
ultra-sonic type which works by way of sonar.
4Both will sound beeps when you get too close to
an object. The electro-magnetic types do not
need you to drill holes in the bumpers as they
are hidden behind them. This makes them ideal if
you tow a caravan or have a rack of bicycles
behind the car. They will still work despite
these obstacles. These particular types do not
need any wiring at all. This way you do not have
to spoil your bumpers with unnecessary holes.

6The electro-magnetic sensors have a much broader
reach as far as obstacles are concerned. Even
when a small child gets in the way you will be
warned about it. There have been many accidents
involving them as they are too small to be
flagged up by the mirrors in your car. You need
to know that if you should go for the latter
model, they are more expensive than the
ultrasonic variety. Even if you should have them
factory fitted, they are often an optional extra
which has to be paid for by you.
7If you are fastidious in driving as safe as
possible, the electro-magnetic ones are your best
bet as the ultrasonic parking aids may not pick
up low walls and other small objects. Your rear
view mirrors are there for a reason and you
should never get lazy enough to forget about
them. Think about them as an extra pair of
sensors.
