Look Inside cPanel

• As I said earlier, HostGator offers cPanel
  for managing a hosting account. If you want to
  make some changes in your hosting account then
  you need to login to the cPanel using the
  username and password provided in the welcome
  email. I wanted to have a look at cPanel.

Add Domain In HostGator.

• As the title of this article suggest, I am going
  to show you how to add a new domain to your
  HostGator account. You can easily add a new
  domain by following few simple steps but before
  you do so you need to understand the basics of
  why you need to add the domain.

Full Procedure of Adding Domain

• You can use any FTP username. Just make sure
  there is no FTP user with the same name already
  exists. If the FTP username is already linked
  with some other domain then you will see the
  error message. I prefer to use domain name as
  root directory and place it under the home
  directory.

• First login to cPanel using your login ID and
  password.
• 2) Then under the Domains section, you will find
  Addon Domains button.  Click on the Addon Domains
  button.
• 3) Next you need to enter the domain name, FTP
  username for the domain, document root
• and password.

Create FTP Account

• When you first signup with the HostGator account,
  you get one FTP account which created by default.
  You can use the default FTP account on all
  domains for transferring data. The default FTP
  account has all full permission on your account.
• If you want to use a specific FTP account only
  for a specific domain name then you need to
  create one. Use these simple steps to create
  another FTP account.

1) First login to cPanel using the login ID and password. 2) Then scroll down and go to Files section. Here you will find FTP Accounts button. Click on the FTP Accounts button.
3) Now enter the FTP account name which you want to create in the login field. Enter the password and confirm the password. If you want to make a strong password then use the Password Generator button.  Then you need to give the directory name. Here you can specify any directory under your home directory. If you want to create a FTP account for a specific domain then specify the root directory of that domain. You can also set a quota for the FTP user. If you do not want to specify the quota then select unlimited option.

How to Install WordPress on HostGator?

Install WordPress Using QuickInstall

• If you want to Install wordpress in Quick away
  then you can use this simple steps.
• Login to cPanel using your username and
  password.
• Go to Software/Services section. Click on
  QuickIinstall button.
• Click on the Wordpress link on the top nevigation
  panel. Alternatively, you can also click on
  Wordpress link under the Blog section.

5) Here you need to give the path name where you want to install the wordpress. You also need to enter admin email address, blog title, admin user name, first name and last name. Then click on Install WordPress button.
4) Then click on the Install WordPress button.
7) Once the installation process is finished, you will be given the username and password to login to the admin panel of your website. Take a note of your login information.

Register a Domain at The Time of Sign Up

• If you are just signing up for HostGator hosting
  service then you have an option to register a
  domain at the time of sign up process. Just enter
  the domain name in the domain name field.
  HostGator then checks for the availability of the
  domain name and will give you the options like
  following.

Register a Domain after Sign Up

• You also have an option to register a domain name
  after the signup process. To register a domain
  name after signup process, follow these steps.
• First login to your cPanel account using the
  username and password.
• On top of the page, you have an option to
  register a domain name. Just enter the domain
  name and click on Register button.

3) If the domain name is available then you will be given the message saying that the domain name is available. You also will be given the other options to register a domain with new TLDs. Click on Add To Cart button next to the domain which you want to register. Then click on View Cart button.

4) On this page, domain privacy protection is already selected. If you don't want the domain privacy protection then unselect the checkbox. I strongly suggest that you don't take the domain privacy because it's of no use.  Now the total charges for domain registrations reduces to the 12.95.

5) Now accept the terms of service and click on complete order button. Enter your billing login details and click on Login button. Give the payment details and your domain will be registered.
