Importance of Therapy Dogs

• There are a lot of good dogs out there I said,
  but they do need specific training for this job,
  I take therapy dog training seriously because it
  is serious work of the most personal kind. I
  constantly remind my students that this is not
  rally or agility, this is serious work and we
  must keep that in our mind and be disciplined in
  our training.
• I do not accept any dog that has had any type of
  bite training into my program, no matter how well
  the owner says he /she is.

Dog Training School Momence

• In my therapy dog obedience training program
  safety is first and the best bite is no bite. My
  class meets for 7, 1 ½ hour sessions, where my
  students receive lecture and training.I am
  currently the training director/program advisor
  for Riverside Hospital Animal Ambassadors(
  since 2006) therapy dog program.
• Everyone benefits from the mere presence of these
  animal ambassadors including the health care
  providers, residents, visitors and staff. We have
  a great team of volunteer handlers and I believe
  the benefits of pet therapy work both ways.

• Everyone reading this knows its true, studies
  show that interacting with a pet can actually
  benefit your health! The use of canines to help
  mankind is known throughout the world. My
  standards pertaining to temperament of the
  potential therapy dog is extremely high. We are
  taking our dogs into health care facilities to
  promote healing and that my friend is a serious
  job.

  for therapy dogs has risen.

  psychiatric institutions, childrens homes,

  people, a joyful sense of accomplishment,
