Demand of BCAs with growth in IT Industry
2
A few years ago, career in Computer Application
was not seen as a lucrative and reputable option.
But with the growth in IT industry, the
perspective of both parents and students took a
360 degree turn. India is seen as back office to
the world and the increasing growth of IT
industry has created a lot of opportunities for
the computer graduates. Thus, it is termed as
new-age degree course. In India, Bachelors of
Computer Application (BCA) is the three year
under-graduate degree course. While some students
use online or distance learning programs to
procure this degree, most prefer the regular
institutes of repute. The top bca colleges in
india give students the flexibility to
incorporate a traditional computer science degree
with a non-traditional field.
3
These colleges focus on teaching programming
methodology used to design data structures and
algorithms and impart comprehensive training in
mathematics, probability and statistics. In
addition to this, more specifically, these
institutes are committed to demonstrate
principles of programming languages and
object-oriented programming. In order to build
the career in Computer Application field,
students are expected to have through and
in-depth knowledge of theory, mathematical
basics, programming methodology, computer
architecture, data structures, operating systems
and software engineering. Like any other
graduation course, after BCA students can opt for
masters (MCA) which is a three year degree
course. Apart from MCA, after completion of BCA
students can also pursue, MBA, MSc, PGDCA, BEd or
any other related diploma course.
4
After BCA and MCA students can pursue their
professional careers in the field of software
development, systems management, and web
designing or computer hardware as Computer
Programmer, Software Engineer, System Analyst,
Testing Engineer, Technical Writer, Designer, or
System Administrator. The growth and evolution in
IT has made corporate more specific and precise
in their demands. In line with the industry
standards, the top BCA colleges in India prepare
students to resolve the day-to-day challenges
faced in IT industry, therefore, the distinctive
approach of these institutes paves the way for a
smooth transition to the workforce after
graduation. Thanks to the growing digitalization,
apart from the core IT firms, BCAs are demanded
in in a range of sectors including health care,
communications, real estate, manufacturing,
banking, retail, electronics and entertainment.
Additionally, professionals also have the
opportunity to work in government sector. It is
thus the responsibility of the top BCA colleges
in India to make students industry ready and
leverage the most of this changing environment.

Petroleum Engineering The Uncovered Story
Petroleum engineering offers attractive and
higher paying career opportunities, still it is
the least popular branch of engineering. Most
often, a petroleum engineering graduate is hired
for discovering natural sources of oil and
inspecting the same. Correspondingly, developing
the cutting-edge machines used in the extraction
and processing of oil is also the job of a
petroleum engineer. While petroleum engineers
have global career opportunities and are employed
by oil companies across the globe, the petroleum
engineering is divided in upstream and downstream
sectors. On the one hand, the upstream sector
comprises of activities like exploration,
production and exploitation of oil and natural
gases, the downstream sector, on the other hand,
involves activities such as the refining,
marketing and distributing of petroleum products.
6
The demand for petroleum engineers have bright
prospects as the demand for petrol and petroleum
products is only expected to increase and the
increase would lead to creation of new jobs. In
fact, because of the less available petroleum
engineers in comparison to the higher demand,
almost every young graduate in petroleum
engineering gets a job offer from petrol and gas
companies from India and overseas. There are very
limited petroleum engineering colleges in india
but their network, reach and placement programs
are promising. Whereas private petroleum
companies offer attractive salaries to petroleum
engineers, government sector oil companies are
not far behind in terms of paying attractive
salaries and bonuses to employees.
7
A path to Petroleum Engineering can be
challenging, exciting, and financially rewarding.
However, Petroleum engineering and consequently
petroleum engineering colleges in India are not
prominently and explicitly known. Only a handful
of universities and institutes are offering
degree or certification programs. The lack of
awareness on Petroleum Engineering courses
amongst students and parents is the primary
reason of its unpopularity. However, the
increasing demand for the petroleum engineers is
likely to raise the pay bar even more which may
grab attention of students and parents.
