  • What is Additive Manufacturing and its uses?
  • Additive Manufacturing refers to a process by
    which digital 3D design data is used to build up
    a component in layers by depositing material. The
    term "3D printing" is increasingly used as a
    synonym for Additive Manufacturing.

    describes a professional production technique
    which is clearly distinguished from conventional
    methods of material removal. Instead of milling a

How does 3D printing work?
  • Step 1
  • It all starts with making a virtual design of the
    object you want to create. This virtual design is
    made in a CAD (Computer Aided Design)
  • Step 2
  • Once completed, the STL file needs to be
    processed by a piece of software called a
    "slicer," which converts the model into a series
    of thin layers and produces a G-code file.
  • Step 3
  • This G-code file can then be printed with 3D
    printing software
