In case youre wondering where to recycle
electronics, your local recycling center is
actually a very good place to start. There are a
lot of recycling centers located all across the
country as well as all throughout the rest of the
world. In developed countries, like right here
in the United States, recycling centers are
formal facilities that are regulated and follow
certain rules and laws. However, in developing
countries, many of the recycling facilities are
informal and are sometimes referred to as
backyard facilities. They are not regulated and
their recycling processes are causing damage to
the environment and increasing health risks.

Here in the United States, however, if you want
to know where to recycle electronics, you can
usually locate a recycling center in the area
where you reside that accepts e-waste. If your
local recycling center does not accept e-waste,
they will most likely be able to locate one close
to where you reside. Recycling centers are not
the only place where you can take your old
electronics in to be recycled.

If youre curious about where to recycle
electronics, other than your local recycling
center, youll be glad to know that there are
other options. Some of these options may seem to
be a little bit more convenient than having to
look around for a recycling center that will
accept your e-waste. There are a number of
electronics retailers that will take your old
electronics off your hands for recycling
purposes, and many of them offer this service
free of charge. It does not matter where you
originally purchased your electronic gadgets
from, as long as it is the type of electronic
device that the particular retailer accepts for
recycling purposes (i.e. cellular phones,
printers, televisions, etc.)
