• Originally called Nandalluru, the name is derived
  from the name Nandi which means the vehicle of
  Lord Shiva.
• This place is approximately center point of nine
  Nandi temples, and hence it has been an important
  pilgrimage site.
• Sri Yaganti Uma Maheswara Temple near Nandyal is
  having the world's largest Nandi idol and is one
  of the major places to visit in Nandyal.

• The city is well connected by road and railways.
• One can see a continuous stream of water pouring
  into an artificial pond where the source of
  water, however, is still a mystery.

  Dam which was built by the Gajapati kings at the
  Gundlakamma river.
