Peter Mara Expert in Wind Energy and Wind Power
Peter Mara is an expert in wind and energy
project finance who helped form Westerly Wind LLC
in 2009 while he worked for the US Renewables
Group. As the companys Vice President, he has
helped facilitate over 800MW of wind energy
projects. For years prior to Westerly Winds
creation, Mara had been involved in helping
alternative energy companies find funding for
their important projects producing energy through
renewable means across North America. As a Senior
Associate of John Hancock Financial, he worked in
the group that managed of assets across private
debt, public debt in utility companies, project
equity and infrastructure investments.

Peter Mara is a champion of promoting alternative
energy in North America. The venture capital
community has funded significant amounts of
capital into clean tech companies in the last 5
years. Venture capital in energy has been
generally underserved due to the complex and time
to bring new energy products or projects into the
market. This costly adoption and capital
intensive manner of energy projects has created
issues for the typical venture investor. Without
bridging the risk of these capital intensive,
speculative investments, the innovative
technologies that could create a material change
in solving the worlds energy problems may prove
difficult.

Peter Mara is active in finding investment
solutions to combat the effects of climate
change. Scientists have long warned all of us
that the earths overall average temperature is
rising like it never has in human history. Mara
works for an investment firm providing funding to
energy companies investing in alternative energy
infrastructure throughout the North American
continent. Mara was an original team member of
Westerly Wind, LLC, set up to invest in these
companies so that they can help lower the demand
for energy created with fossil fuels.

Peter Mara is the Vice President of Finance for
Westerly Wind, a part of US Renewables, which
invests in alternative energy infrastructure so
that energy companies trying to create new ways
of producing clean and renewable energy can
continue their important work. Mara studied
Business Administration at Northeastern
University, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude.
Throughout his career, Mara has been using his
knowledge and skill in investing and finance to
help develop alternative energy infrastructure
throughout North America. Infrastructure
investing can provide strong risk adjusted
returns and diversification for investors in
developed or developing countries.
