You might not know this, but in our brains there
are brain cells which are pivotal in ensuring the
communication processes in it. But if these brain
cells weaken or die, they cannot be fixed. That's
why the role they play in the brain can be lost
if this happens. However, brain health

cells from undue stress. Free radicals in the
brain are also eliminated by antioxidants. But
what are free radicals and why are they important?

They are the material which can damage our brain
cells. Our brain cells are encircled by fatty
acids which provide communication between various

occurs (where oxygen reacts with fat), rancid fat
is created. This can add to the free radicals in
the brain. However, antioxidants can repair
damaged brain cells and are therefore important
to brain health.

sources. If you eat a lot of vegetables and lower
your intake of fat you will promote overall
health. However, for brain health, fatty fish is
considered the best. Fish from cool, clean and
deep waters are the very best though because they
are rich in DHA. DHA actually makes up 30 of our
brain and is therefore essential to the proper
functioning of our master organ. This is made
doubly true by the fact that DHA promotes proper
communication between our neurons.
