Title: Vehicle Regristration Changes
1The vehicle registration renewal process was
modernized in 2014.
2We must understand this new law to stay clear of
problems.
3We will still need to get our motor vehicles
inspected and pay the State for our car
registration yearly, but both are going to be
presented as part of a single sticker on your
windshield thats the short version.
4This is how it works.
5Car registration renewal is the same as always.
6However, your registration is now coupled with
your safety inspection.
7If your inspection is in-date, you can go through
car registration as usual.
8You may then use the sticker to replace both
stickers (automobile registration and safety
inspection) which are on your windshield.
9Your following State of Texas inspection will not
be due again until immediately before your next
vehicle registration renewal, so you may manage
to save a few bucks.
10If your vehicle registration renewal is due in
the same month as the safety inspection, inspect
the vehicle first.
11Once the inspection is online with the State of
Texas, you may get your vehicle registration
renewal sticker and then use it to replace both
your safety inspection and vehicle registration
stickers.
12It's different when your safety inspection is due
prior to your vehicle registration renewal.
13When it is due, have the automobile safety
inspected.
14You won't get a sticker, so keep the report in
your glove compartment.
15You need to use it to show police officers that
you've an up-to-date safety inspection if you're
stopped because of another thing.
16When your vehicle registration is due, register
your vehicle as normal and use the sticker to
replace both the prior ones.
17The following year, you'll need to get your
automobile inspected and in the state's databases
within a three month period prior to renewing
your car registration.
18In the long run the new vehicle registration
renewal system should help everybody.
