Shoulder Anatomy

• Shoulder is made up of three bones
• 1) Upper arm bone (humerus)
• 2) Shoulder blade (scapula)
• 3) Collar bone (clavicle). 

• It is a ball-and-socket joint also known as
  glenoid. The head of humerus fits into a shallow
  socket in the shoulder blade. This joint allows
  the movement of the arm in different direction.

  replaced with artificial components, called a
  prosthesis.
