    Acetylation Modification for you.

  • What is the protein acetylation? It is the
    process that Acetyl is added to protein lysine
    residues and then it can be used by cells to
    control gene expression, protein activity or
    physiological processes.
  • Histone acetylation occurs in specific lysine
    residues in the N-terminal basic amino acid
    concentration area. And then acetyl coenzyme A
    will be transferred to the lysine sNH3 and a
    positive charge will be neutralized.
  • Now I will mainly introduce the acetylation
    modification, including its function and meaning
    to you.

  • The function of acetylation modification
  • As we mentioned above, the main function of
    acetylation modification is to regulate certain
    metabolic enzymes in the human body and control
    diabetes. That means that it is a great
    achievement for diabetes treatment by regulating
    a metabolic enzymes--PEPCK1 to control glucose
    concentration effictively. This achievement has
    been published on the international cell
    magazine--Molecular Cell. It is reported that
    there is a process called as Gluconeogenesis,
    which means that amino acid and some other
    non-glucose nutrients in human body are
    transferred into glucose. Generally speaking, our
    body will transfer glucose automatically. And the
    PEPCK1 is the key enzyme for controling the
    process of Gluconeogenesis. The function of
    PEPCK1 is to change the other energy into glucose
    through the gluconeogenesis. If the activity of
    PEPCK1 is nuch higher than normal level, the
    content of glucose in blood will be increased and
    then the diabbetes is coming. So ir is a very
    important method to control diabetes by
    regulating PEPCK1 seriously.

    modification
  • The main function of acetylation modification is
    mainly focusing on affecting the structure of
    chromosome and activatiing the nuclear
    transcription factor. Whats more, researchers
    from FuDan University had found out other meaning
    of the acetylation modification
  • Protein acetylation modification is not minority,
    it is most likely to affect a wide modification
    of every aspects under the physiological state of
    cells. It can be regarded as a mile stone in this
    field.
  • It is the first time to find that the acetylation
    modification exsits in the metabolic enzymes and
    it also regulate the metabolomic system and the
    activity of metabolic enzyme. This can be an
    important basis for the use of all kinds of
    medicine and vitamins.
  • The protein acetylation has high specificity
    features.
  • As we all know that 80 diseases of human have
    connection with metabolism, so this research
    offer the new idea for prepare medicine for
    regulating metabolism.
