1. Maintain The Units Filters

• Firstly air conditioner should be unplug and
  front cover should be removed. The filter itself
  may be attached to the back or the front cover or
  secure in front of the coils.
• Now wash it with warm water and soap after
  removing the filter. Ostracize as much water as
  possible and let the filter dry before
  reinstalling it. Restore a damaged or torn
  filter.
• Clean the cover itself as well as the grill over
  the evaporator coils.
• The grill and evaporator coils should be gently
  vacuumed. The aluminum fins on the coils are
  easily bent, so handle them with care.

Clean and flush the drainage system

• Now from the air conditioner, remove the drain
  tube
• Check and clean the blockages from the drain tube
  with bottlebrush or piece of wire through the
  tube.

Tips and Warnings

• Turn off your air conditioner if you are going
  out. This will helpful to save electricity and
  give the fan in the unit a break.
• If it is possible, try to install a window air
  conditioner out of sunlight. In the direction of
  North- or South-facing since they don't get
  direct sun.
• Make sure that the seams all around the air
  conditioner are well sealed. This will helps to
  keep the hot air outside and cool air inside.
