What can patients expect from cataract surgery?
Introduction to cataract It the one when
cloudiness appears in front of the eyes and you
are not able to see properly. Usually blurred
image appears which causes a great difficulty.
This can develop in either one eye or both the
eyes. Over period of time this cloudiness becomes
worse which causes vision to become increasingly
blurry, hazy and cloudy. There are also cases
experienced, babies born with cataract, but these
are rare and mostly develop with the age.

• Surgery procedure
• Cataract surgery is straightforward and usually
  takes 30- 45 minutes for completion. Operation is
  carried out under local anesthesia and the
  patient is awake during t he whole procedure and
  can go back home the same day.
• For removing the affected lens a small incision
  is made and after removing the affected lens
  surgeon inserts a small plastic lens which is
  known as intraocular implant or intraocular lens.
• If a patient has cataract in both the eyes than
  the treatment to the other eye will be given on
  separate occasion of few weeks.

Recovery Time Patient is allowed to move back
home after few hours of operation , although
someone should be there to drop you to home and
precautions should be take for few weeks. Eyes
drops recommended by the doctor should be used
regularly until doctor asks you to stop using.
