TOP IT Trends 2015
  • We know The internet is already full of articles
called IT Trends 2015 predicting the upcoming
trends in the IT industry by so-called industry
experts and analysts. But this one is different
as we have asked real IT-experts worldwide which
direction the industry will go next You!
  • Thanks to your active participation in our survey
we could identify the Top 5 IT Trends 2015
according to IT-freelancers. And here are the
    results!

3
TOP IT Trends 2015
4
Cloud/Client Computing (32.9)
  • Well ok, you are right Cloud/Client Computing
is a more well-known topic than a real new
trend. Nevertheless Cloud and Client Computing
will rule the IT industry in 2015 again, thus our
IT-experts evaluate the topic with very high
importance. Cloud computing will have a
significant impact on every IT aspect. But the
main focus will be on the convergence of cloud
and mobile computing so that applications can be
delivered to any device. Over time, we will be
able to use applications simultaneously on
    multiple devices.

5
The Internet of Things (32.5)
  • The Internet of Things (IOT) is already a big
thing and according to our IT-experts it will
continue to grow. So let us say The Internet of
Things is a huge industry indicator, but not a
new trend itself as the term was already
mentioned the first time by the IT-pioneer Kevin
    Ashton in 1990.
  • 25 years later the IOT will more and more
influence the daily life of private people
worldwide, e.g. in form of LED-lamps that can be
regulated via smartphone or intelligent car
parking lots which display if they are free or
completely full. The trend can be observed in
different areas of life, ranging from fitness
tracking apps to smart refrigerators that inform
the owner when butter and milk are emptied. Lets
see what comes next. In any case, IT experts
should keep an eye on the IOT and think about
    potential business extensions.

6
Wearable Systems (14.4)
  • Next to the advanced smart-phone technologies,
other wearable systems will appear and influence
our daily life. Smart-Watches and Google Glasses
already are on everyone's lips and in 2015 these
items will establish themselves in the market
e.g. Apples iWatch. But also Google and Samsung
have persuading gadgets in store for us in the
future. Beyond that we will be confronted with
(or amazed by) further new wearable technologies
such as integrated gadgets in clothes, jewelries,
helmets, keys, cars, and so on. There are no
    limits!

7
3D Printing (10.3)
  • 3D Printers can create three-dimensional
components out of different materials. Although
this technology is still quite young, the demand
for 3D Printing is growing tremendously. The
    industrial capabilities are various. Especially
in the case of prototyping, short-run
manufacturing or design improvement, 3D Printing
is an interesting, cost-effective and time-saving
alternative. Moreover the cost of 3D printing is
about to decrease within the next years, leading
to a rapid growth of demand and expansion in the
    industry worldwide.

8
Smart Data (9.9)
  • After Big Data, there is Smart Data! In the last
years we have collected data and more data. But
to be honest, Big Data isnt everything and the
simply aggregation of data doesnt automatically
contribute to the value added chain. Therefor the
IT industry will need to invest in the question
on how to analyze, to structure, to combine and
to use all the data efficiently. Big Data is only
the basic framework, but we will need to think
    smart
  • The survey was conducted among IT-freelancers in
    119 different countries worldwide.
