Joshua M Shields Education in Forestry
Joshua M Shields was born and raised in the
Saginaw area of Michigan where his interests in
natural resources, music, and martial arts are
founded. He achieved his B.S. in applied ecology
and M.S. in forest ecology and management from
Michigan Technological University. He wouldnt
stop there, also obtaining his Ph. D. in forest
biology from Purdue University. He believes that
the only way to gain true knowledge about natural
resources is through experience outdoors.

Joshua M Shields Of the Forest
Joshua M Shields grew up in Saginaw, Michigan
hunting, fishing, and hiking, which spurred his
interest in ecology and natural resources.
Joshua specializes in helping landowners make
decisions pertaining to the management of their
forested property. He provides technical advice,
performs site evaluations, and prepares written
handouts and recommendations for non-industrial
private forest landowners pertaining to forest
management, forest health, wildlife habitat, and
other natural resource concerns.

Joshua M Shields currently works for a local
organization as an outreach forester where he
provides technical advice, performs site
evaluations, and prepares written handouts and
recommendations for non-industrial private forest
landowners. His services provide information on
forest management, forest health, wildlife
habitats, and other natural resource matters.

Joshua M Shields, as an outreach forester, prides
himself on being able to offer local communities
the information and resources needed to better
manage and understand their local forest habitats
and wildlife. With a long history of education
in Forest Ecology and Management, and degrees
from Michigan Technological University and Purdue
University, Joshua M Shields offers a highly
valuable service to his communities.
