Questionnaire Analysis

Question 13Whats your favourite colour?
In a survey of thirty people the most popular
colour was red and the least popular colour was
orange. Interestingly red could be considered a
unisex colour yet our feedback was considerably
female dominated. In our documentary it would be
best to use the most popular colours in our
mise-en-scene in order to appeal to the public as
best as possible.

Question 14Whats your favourite music?
The most popular genre of music was pop. Over
half of our pool of participants were aged 16-18
so pop is evidently the favourite genre of music
among people of that age. As Channel 4 targets
mainly young people and this is the channel we
would like our documentary on, pop is probably
the best choice of music to use in the
documentary to attract our target audience. As
expected alternative was the least popular genre
of music, alternative music tends to have a very
niche market so it is not a genre of music we
would use in our documentary.

Question 15Who do you watch telly with?
From our questionnaire we have discovered that
most people watch TV with their family. This
could mean that people of all ages could
potentially be watching our documentary as it
could be that someone younger may put it on and
everyone watches it. I feel as though our topic
would appeal to all audiences even if it is aimed
at a younger adolescence audience.

Question 16Where do you watch TV?
It seems as though most people watch TV in their
living room with 14 out of 30 people claiming
that this is where they watch TV. This is closely
followed by 11 people saying they watch TV in
their bedroom and only 4 in the kitchen and 1 on
the go. This shows us that people are more likely
again to watch with family and a varied audience
to be present. This means we should make our
documentary appropriate for all ages whilst still
targeting it specifically at younger people.
