Dean Russell Mertens Has Worked For Many Renowned

Dean Russell Mertens is a skilled professional in
the Structural Engineering field and is currently
working for Rilco Manufacturing Company, Inc.
since the year 2012. The company is based in
Houston and is engaged in designing and
manufacturing a diverse portfolio of pipe
supports, a variety of steel fabrications,
hydraulic and mechanical snubbers, and more. He
also specializes in Product and Application
Engineering areas.

While working with Hermann Park Conservancy, he
created a map comprising utilities and the whole
region of the park with the help of ArcMap 10
software. He also created a spreadsheet design
which was on the basis of estimated annual cost
of tasks and projects by the company.

He contributed a lot to save the trees from dying
in 2011 when there was heat and lack of rain in
Houston. He spared no efforts to control the
drought's effects on Hermann Park. In cooperation
with Alix, an urban planning junior at Texas
State University in San Marcos, Mertens Dean
worked hard to update the Hermann Park
maintenance study. Using ArcView mapping and hand
held GPS device, they recorded the locations
where the trees were planted. That helped the
Conservancy maintenance staff to know the areas
where they had to concentrate more during that
dry season.

He was born in the year 1935 and currently living
in Cypress, TX. He is the son of Ms. Sandra
Mertens and Mr. Kevin Mertens. He is a Bachelor
of Science in Engineering from the University of
Houston. He completed his Civil Engineering
Internship at Cobb, Fendley and Associates, Inc.
from December 2009 till January 2010 in Houston,
TX. He has thorough knowledge of using various
engineering software including Technical Drawing,
Visual Basic, Mastan2, SAP2000, AutoCAD, MS
Excel, Arcview, Inventor, Fire Dynamics
Simulator, Pspice, Pro-Engineer, and Matlab. Over
years, he worked hard and emerged as one of the
leaders in the Houston area in Structural
Engineering.

Besides his job, Dean Russell Mertens also takes
part in a variety of sports including basketball,
golf, beach wakeboarding, and snowboarding. He
loves traveling as it is one of his hobbies. He
likes going to different places and meeting with
a variety of people. He never misses to give time
to his family and friends even in busy schedules.
Additionally, he supports and contributes to
various welfare and charitable organizations. He
took part in the 2014 ovarian cancer awareness 5k
run.
