Title: Places to visit in Colombo

1
Places to visit in Colombo
  • Colombo is the major city of Sri Lanka, with
inhabitants of 4,575,000 urban areas. It is
situated on the west shore of the isle and
adjacent to Sri Jayewardenepura Kotte suburb or
the assembly capital of Sri Lanka. Colombo is
also the governmental capital of Western region,
Sri Lanka and the district capital of Colombo
    District.

2
Gangaramaya Buddhist Temple
  • Gangaramaya Temple is the most well-known and
iconic Buddhist place of praise in Colombo. Among
visitors, it has also obtained popularity as one
of the more well-known temple you can visit in
    Colombo.

3
Independence Memorial Hall
  • Colombo Independence Memorial Hall was
designed to be able to display Sri Lankan
independence from British rule in 1948. Along
with the monument, which I believed seemed
somewhat like the Parthenon, is a sculpture of
the first president of Sri Lanka who is regarded
one of the fathers of the country.

4
Wolvendaal Church
  • The Wolvendaal Church is one of the
    magnificently maintained Dutch stuctures that
still prevails in Colombo. A trip to the church
is not only to notice it from the outside, but to
also see the amazing furnishings pews within the
    church.

5
Viharamadevi Park
  • The main and most popular outside park in
Colombo is known as Viharamahadevi Park. The park
was set-up as one of the only green spaces in
    Colombo during British concept.

6
Colombo Fort
  • The Colombo Fort district of city is a
historical place that is today the economical
company region of Colombo. It was the Portuguese
who first developed the fort, but thereafter the
    Dutch took it over.
