2Alison Lowe is a bright and versatile student who
was born in Taiwan and raised up in Vancouver,
Canada. In addition to being a hard working
student, she has worked and volunteered in many
different situations and has a solid portfolio of
experience. She is an avid musician and plays
guitar, piano and drums.
3Academic Background of Lowe Alison Lowe
graduated in Psychology from the University of
British Columbia and is currently pursuing a
Doctor of Philosophy in Clinical Psychology in
the United States. A bright student she
graduated from UBC with First Class Honors and
received academic scholarships from Trinity
Western University as well as being named to the
Deans Honor List.
4Research Experience Alison has been involved in
several research projects. She was a Directed
Studies Student Research Assistant at the
K.I.D. Studies Centre at the Culture, Cognition
and Co evolution Lab at UBC in the year
2011-2012, Later in 2012, she worked as research
assistant in Applied Developmental Psychology and
the Child and Adolescent Lab at UBC.
5Alison Lowe also worked as Research Assistant
Project Coordinator at Psychophysics Cognitive
Neuroscience Lab, Vancouver in 2012-2013
6Volunteer Experience Alison Lowes volunteer
experience is extensive and began at an early
age. While still a high school student, she
tutored immigrant children, taught Sunday School
and was Summer Camp Counselor. As she grew older,
the experiences expanded into health sciences as
well. In Vietnam and Mexico, Alison was a
medical and dental assistant, serving more than
200 patients a day from impoverished rural areas.
7Part of this was sponsored through EMAS
Canada. At the Good News Community Health Centre
in Oregon, Alison Lowe was a medical
assistant. In Vancouver, Alison volunteered at
Geriatrics Ward Emergency Room and organized
and assisted in several activities at Mt. St.
Josephs Hospital. She also was the facilitator
and co-founded the Sharing Hands Community
Kitchen for women with psychological and chronic
health issues.
8Because of her resourcefulness and willingness to
work hard, Alison is often invited to participate
in many different activities from playing the
drums in front of thousands of people
